They are reusable and can be easily cleaned. You can use them dry or with water or mild cleansers. They have the versatility to be used on metals, composites and plastic surfaces.

What are Non-Woven Abrasive Hand Pads made of?

Non-Woven Hand Pads are a combination of abrasive grains bonded to a tough, durable, nylon mesh and a resin bond that binds the other components together. The four most common abrasive gains used are listed below.

• Aluminum Oxide -- this abrasive is tough and durable. Non-Woven Hand Pads containing Aluminum Oxide are maroon / brown in color.
• Silicon Carbide -- is a sharp, sliver like abrasive grain that has a sharp cutting action. Non-Woven Abrasives containing Silicon Carbide are grey / black in color.
• Alumino-Silicate -- this man made grain is less aggressive than Aluminum Oxide or Silicon Carbide and is used primarily for "Pot Scrubbers" and are green in color.
• Talc -- non-scratch abrasive for light duty cleaning and it is white in color.
