How do you identify Welded Steel Chain?

The welded steel chain is identified by an embossed mark on the chain. This mark will include the manufacturer's identification mark or symbol and the grade indictor as shown below for grade 30, 43, and 70.

Grade 30, 43 and 70 chain sizes 5/16 and 3/8 will be embossed at intervals no greater than 1 ft.
All other grade 30,43, and 70 chains will be embossed at intervals no greater than 3 ft.
Grade 30 chain 5/16 or larger is embossed with a 3, 30 or 300.
Grade 43 chain is embossed with a 4, 43 or 430.
Grade 70 chain is embossed with a 7, 70,700.

Grade 80 and 100 chain marking will include the manufacturer's identification mark or symbol, trace ability or date code and the grade indictor as shown below for grade 80 and 100. The embossing will be at intervals no greater than 3 ft.
Grade 80 chains will be embossed with 8, 80 or 800.
Grade 100 chains will be embossed with 10, 100, or 100
